I went for a job interview today in Dragon Mart (it's so cool because their office is inside a shopping mall :D). The company is the licensing engineering & commercial services department established by the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation of Dubai so basically it's a government office.
But the job offer is for 2 months only as they are still currently on discussion about getting this job as a permanent position. Office timings 7:30am - 3:30pm Sunday to Thursday. I will be assisting to new company trade license applications, data entry jobs, visa applications, follow ups etc etc.The salary is just about the same as I am getting now.
I'm currently working from 9:00am - 6:00pm Saturday to Thursday. I work as an Operations Executive in the company's Supply Chain & Logistics Department, basically I'm handling all the incoming import shipments as well as exporting. I've been with this company for almost two years now and I would appreciate it if they can give me an increase in my salary :p
I would really like to accept the new job offer as I will be provided an intensive training about the whole job scope and the services they offer like licensing services to new businesses, owners and tenants, governmental services such as employment & visit visas, and handle consulate affairs and related services, I mean I'm really after the whole work experience! Not to mention, I will get to spend more time with my kids at home everyday plus a Saturday off!
But my husband is worried about me ending up not having a job after 2 months. He said, what if at the end they decided not to retain me and that they only require my service for two months as what the job offer stated initially. And really I cannot afford to lose a job considering that we have 3 kids to feed and I've got debts like credit cards and loans I pay each month and I can't just let my husband to take care of all of these on his own lol! I just wish it was a permanent position, I will join them tomorrow itself if I have to haha!
So now I'm still thinking whether to take the job offer or just leave it....
